Tom Sawyer and his best friend Mark were always getting into mischief together. They were known throughout the town for their wild adventures and pranks.

One day, Tom and Mark decided to explore the old abandoned mansion on the outskirts of town. The mansion was said to be haunted, but that didn't scare the two boys one bit.

As they crept through the dark and dusty rooms, they heard strange noises and saw shadows moving in the corners. But instead of running away, Tom and Mark laughed and joked, daring each other to go further into the mansion.

Suddenly, they heard a loud crash and saw a figure standing in front of them. It was the ghost of the old mansion's owner, who had died years ago. But instead of being scared, Tom and Mark started to talk to the ghost, asking him questions about his life and why he haunted the mansion.

To their surprise, the ghost told them that he was lonely and just wanted someone to talk to. Tom and Mark listened intently, feeling sorry for the ghost and his sad story.

After spending hours talking to the ghost, Tom and Mark finally said goodbye and left the mansion. As they walked back to town, they couldn't stop talking about their encounter with the ghost and how they had actually enjoyed talking to him.

From that day on, Tom and Mark were known as the boys who befriended a ghost. And they continued to have many more adventures together, always looking for excitement and fun wherever they went.
